Lean manufacturing is a methodology to preserve value with less work. Its management philosophy is derived originally from the Toyota Production System (TPS), which focuses on reduction of Toyota’s original seven wastes to improve overall customer value. A Lean Manufacturing organization eliminates waste while meeting customers’ needs by producing what they want, when they need it.
