The journey to 10,000 FireChek\u00ae valves began in 1985. NASA <\/a>contracted Memry Corporation to explore applications for Nitinol, a Shape Memory Effect alloy they had developed. This research, resulted in the FireChek valve<\/a>, a fire safety solution for toxic chemical process lines in semiconductor manufacturing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the 1990s, Memry acquired the rights to FireChek and refined its design into the current version. Assured Automation quickly recognized the valve’s unique characteristics and significant advantages over other emergency shutoff methods. In the late 1990s, FireChek received the prestigious FM approval, providing much-needed credibility for this relatively unknown product. By 2004, Assured Automation became an official distributor of the valve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the next decade, Assured Automation actively promoted the FireChek through its website and various marketing channels. In 2014, Memry Corporation sold the rights to FireChek to Assured Automation, granting them exclusive distribution rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assured Automation expanded its marketing efforts and developed various solution packages to enhance FireChek’s versatility. First came the introduction of quick exhaust valves<\/a> and pilot spool valves<\/a> improved its suitability for large actuators by increasing the exhaust Cv. Next, new mounting and installation methods enhanced flexibility and ease of use. Finally, the FireChek was incorporated into complete actuated valve packages, including the ESD Series<\/a> and the TSV Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between 2014 and 2024, FireChek’s popularity grew steadily, with increasing sales and widespread adoption. It has become a well-known option for engineers responsible for fire safety compliance. FireChek is now a standard addition to process valves in various industries and is frequently specified in system and skid designs. In October of 2024, Assured Automation proudly sold its 10,000th FireChek valve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
