{"id":6773,"date":"2021-05-27T11:53:31","date_gmt":"2021-05-27T15:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/?p=6773"},"modified":"2023-01-20T14:48:22","modified_gmt":"2023-01-20T19:48:22","slug":"wellhead-compressor-valve-reduces-methane-emissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/wellhead-compressor-valve-reduces-methane-emissions\/","title":{"rendered":"Wellhead Compressor Valve Reduces Methane Emissions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Many modulating valves in the gas industry utilize pipeline gas media for actuating valves which often causes problems with greenhouse emissions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govinfo.gov\/content\/pkg\/CFR-2015-title40-vol7\/pdf\/CFR-2015-title40-vol7-part60-subpartOOOO.pdf\">CFR40 Part60 subpart 0000<\/a> limits the bleed rate for these modulating valves utilizing the media for actuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Problem:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An OEM of gas lift compressors was in search of an all electric valve that could eliminate the pneumatic bleed of gases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LDAR inspections and possible fines for violation of &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iso.org\/standard\/61441.html\">ISO 15848-1<\/a> pushed this OEM to look for an all electric option that would eliminate the gas bleed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:42% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"568\" height=\"373\" src=\"\/news-and-training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Wellhead-compressor-valve-to-reduce-Methane-Emissions-2.docx.jpg\" alt=\"Wellhead compressor valve\" class=\"wp-image-6851 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Wellhead-compressor-valve-to-reduce-Methane-Emissions-2.docx.jpg 568w, https:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Wellhead-compressor-valve-to-reduce-Methane-Emissions-2.docx-300x197.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 568px) 100vw, 568px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>A product specialist at Assured Automation proposed the <a href=\"\/V\/\">V Port 36 Series <\/a>full port socket weld ball valve along with the B7 Series explosionproof modulating electric actuator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both valve and actuator met the hazardous area requirements and provided the durability the customer required.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The units proved a success for the end user which has improved on their well uptime and barrel per day output.
