{"id":3656,"date":"2014-05-06T12:24:59","date_gmt":"2014-05-06T16:24:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/?p=3656"},"modified":"2023-02-20T10:07:43","modified_gmt":"2023-02-20T15:07:43","slug":"fusible-link-valve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/fusible-link-valve\/","title":{"rendered":"Assured Automation\u2019s FM Fire-Safe Fusible Link Valves"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>FM Fire-Safe Fusible Link Valve Protects Refineries and Chemical Processors from Fire Hazards<\/h2>\n<p>The <a title=\"FM Fire-Safe Shutoff assemblies\" href=\"\/firesafe\/index.php?p=buy\">FM Fire-Safe Shutoff fusible link valve assemblies<\/a> from Assured Automation are API 607 and Factory Mutual approved for flammable liquids, and are commonly used to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To shut down hazardous lines when fire occurs, and<\/li>\n<li>Activate sprinkler systems to control fire<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure style=\"width: 154px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"\/firesafe\/index.php\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"\/firesafe\/images\/FM-FireSafe-Thermal-Valves.png\" alt=\"FM Fire-Safe 3-Piece Ball Valve Assembly\" width=\"154\" height=\"154\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">FM Fire-Safe 3-Piece Ball Valve Assembly<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>These <a href=\"\/firesafe\/\">emergency shutdown valves with\u00a0fusible links (ESD<\/a>) include manually operated ball or butterfly valves. If a fire occurs, the thermal link either automatically stops the flow of flammable liquids (in a normally open configuration) \u2013 or opens flow to release a fire retardant or divert the flammable material (a normally closed configuration).<\/p>\n<p>The FM Fire-Safe is available with an electro-thermal link (ETL) which is compatible with most smoke or gas detectors. The operating range for the electro thermal link is 6-30 VAC, or 6-30 VAC, and requires less than 0.2 amperes of power, 0.5 milliseconds at 24 volts. The electro-thermal option is used with fuel and combustion control applications, combustion safeguards, and electro-signaling systems that are heat activated, smoke or gas activated, flame-energy activated, or activated by rate of rise or maximum temperature.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 178px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"\/firesafe\/index.php\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"\/firesafe\/images\/FM-FireSafe-Thermal-Shutoff-Butterfly-Valve.png\" alt=\"FM Fire-Safe Butterfly Valve Assembly\" width=\"178\" height=\"178\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">FM Fire-Safe Butterfly Valve Assembly<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A unique, removable handle allows the valve to be manually operated locally or remotely from over 30 feet without affecting the fusible links. The removable handle prevents injury or damage from the high-powered quick acting handle in the event of fire actuation.<\/p>\n<p>Assured Automation makes it easy to select the <a title=\"FM Fire-Safe configuration\" href=\"\/firesafe\/index.php?p=buy\">FM Fire-Safe configuration<\/a> that meets each particular application\u2019s requirements through its online configurator.
