{"id":1261,"date":"2012-08-29T14:00:29","date_gmt":"2012-08-29T18:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/?p=1261"},"modified":"2023-02-23T17:28:33","modified_gmt":"2023-02-23T22:28:33","slug":"flavor-manufacturing-plant-uses-assured-automations-v-series-v-port-ball-valve-to-control-reactor-temperatures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/flavor-manufacturing-plant-uses-assured-automations-v-series-v-port-ball-valve-to-control-reactor-temperatures\/","title":{"rendered":"Flavor Manufacturing Plant Uses Assured Automation\u2019s V Series V Port Ball Valve to Control Reactor Temperatures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Featured Application: V-Port Ball Valve Series<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Flavor Manufacturing Plant uses <\/strong><strong>Assured Automation\u2019s<\/strong><strong> V Series V Port Ball Valve to control reactor temperatures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Problem:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-7475\" src=\"\/news-and-training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/V-port-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/V-port-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/assuredautomation.com\/news-and-training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/V-port-300x297.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>A major flavor manufacturing plant was seeking to improve their reactor temperatures without incurring the high cost of typical globe control valves.\u00a0 Globe control valves have a high initial cost as well as a high maintenance cost, as they often need to be returned to the manufacturer for maintenance which can often result in long periods of reactor shutdown and subsequent revenue loss.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Solution:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/index.php\">Assured Automation<\/a> introduced the V Series <a href=\"\/V\/index.php\">V Port ball valve line<\/a> to the end user. The low initial cost of the V port ball valve package compared to globe valves was very attractive. The ease of maintenance sold the plant engineers on the package. The <a href=\"\/V\/index.php?p=buy\">slotted ball valve seats<\/a> could easily be replaced by plant maintenance. <a href=\"\/valve-actuators\/index.php#valve-positioners\">Actuators and positioners<\/a> could be readily removed with 4 bolts. Plant maintenance was confident they could easily troubleshoot problems with this valve package, their reactor could be up and running in a matter of minutes, not days.<\/p>\n<p>The maintenance engineer installed the <a href=\"\/V\/index.php\">V Series V slotted ball valves<\/a> and was impressed with the control they achieved. The package was as easy to maintain as any automated ball valve in the plant. They have now standardized on the V Series for all their reactor control applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/V\/index.php\">V Series V Port 2-Way Control Valve<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; The V Series ball valve provides accurate control of down-steam flow rates, from simple on-off to modulation control applications. The throttling part of the valve is a solid stainless steel ball, not a seat insert like others.
